Permanent contract
**Hours: Nightshift (4am

  • 12pm approx working 5/6 days per week)**
    Salary: depending upon experience up to £23,000


My client is a leading family-owned wholesale supplier of high-quality fresh produce, vegetables, fruit, dairy, meat, perishables & non-perishable goods based in the Northeast of England.

They have supplied hotels, pubs, shops, restaurants, cafes, schools & retirement homes successfully for more than 30 years.


Due to continued growth & success, we have created a number of opportunities for hard working and motivated individuals to join the team on a permanent basis.


As Picker & Delivery Driver, your key responsibilities include:

  • Being a good timekeeper, shifts start at 4am each morning in the warehouse.
  • Understanding daily work requirements at the beginning of each shift
  • Picking of all customer orders from lists ensure 100% accurate each time.
  • Highlighting any issues or discrepancies to Operations Manager.
  • Working as effective part of the Team, supporting Colleagues to ensure all orders fulfilled each day before heading off on deliveries.
  • Ability to stick to a route plan ensuring time management throughout the shift meets requirements.
  • Representing the business with customers, always ensuring quality service reflective of quality produce standards.
  • Completing any reporting required to ensure both H&S and food hygiene/legislation requirements adhered.
  • Ensuring warehouse standards are always maintained and workspace clean & tidy.

Key qualities & experience required include:

  • Demonstrate experience in a similar role which includes delivery driving & warehouse duties
  • Experience of working as part of a supportive Team, helping Colleagues as needed.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, targets & under pressure.
  • Physically able to pick, pack and load order to & from the vehicle in timely manner.
  • Understand the importance of good customer service & relationship building with customers.
  • Confident IT literacy skills to ensure orders placed & processed accurately.
  • Proficient level of numeracy & literacy skills
  • Effective communication skills
- dealing with customer orders & queries face to face.

  • Full drivers licence essential.
  • Flexible and adaptable to support Colleagues/Team when needed to ensure all orders received as planned each day.

  • Delivery driver experience: 1 year (preferred)
