The Infrastructure Support Operations Team oversees the monitoring of the IT Infrastructure and Services across NHS Wales.


We currently have a permanent opening for a Product Specialist (Monitoring) to manage and support the Monitoring Infrastructure and associated services throughout Wales.


We seek a self-driven individual with expertise in monitoring Windows server environments and a strong background in maintaining and managing intricate solutions both on site and in the cloud.

Familiarity with the NHS setting is advantageous, and additional value can be attributed to strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.


As a permanent member of the Infrastructure Support Operations Centre (ISOC) team, you'll have the opportunity to cultivate and maintain relationships with various IT departments and teams across NHS Wales.

Demonstrating mastery in at least one of the following technologies, along with a deep understanding of at least two others, is essential:

  • System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
  • Microsoft 365 Defender for Endpoint
  • SolarWinds Products including NPM, SAM, WPM, DPA, SRM, VMM, and UDT
  • Creating and managing SSRS/Power BI Reports
  • Hardware monitoring tools, such as Dell Open Manage Enterprise
  • Cloud Monitoring Solutions/Azure Monitor
  • Extensive PowerShell and automation experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsible for the implementation, operation, monitoring, support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the systems supported by the Infrastructure Support Operations Centre (ISOC) team.

Offering guidance and expert advice on matters pertaining to the ISOC team.

Providing technical leadership and promoting best practices within the team's functional domain.

Overseeing incident, problem, change, and release management in accordance with ITIL guidelines.


Managing the support function, ensuring optimal deployment of skills and resources to meet or exceed all service levels and client requirements.

Establishing, operating, and ensuring adherence to business and service management processes and procedures.
