    Description

    The role

    This role is within the Ageing and Movement Research Group. This involves working between the university of Bristol and the Royal United Hospital in Bath. You will assist in the delivery of our portfolio of research. You will have an opportunity to work within NHS settings to develop specialist clinical skills.

    The salary awarded for this role will depends on whether the applicant is still in training. If still in training, the salary will be in line with a Doctors in training salary, FY2-ST7 (£32,398 - £63,152). Otherwise, the salary will be in line with a Clinical Research Fellow salary (£37,068 - £57,570).

    Successful candidate will need to confirm if this role is an Approved Out of Programme and if they are retaining their NTN (National Training Number) before contract generation.

    What will you be doing?

    You will take an active part in delivering the PRIME intervention, with clinic sessions and home visits, hosting of workshops, and responding to patient queries over the phone and via email. This will involve the assessment and management of patients with Parkinsons Disease, or other related conditions such as PSP and MSA. You will be required to work competently and safely, taking a holistic approach to care in order to help patients achieve their self-defined goals (the primary trial outcome measure). You will also be expected to produce other publications relevant to the AMRG, submit these for presentations and posters, and submit grant proposals to secure further funding.

    You have a medical degree and are registered with the General Medical Council.

    You are interested in an academic career pathway.

    You are experienced in working with people with Parkinsonism.

    You have previously worked on clinical trials.

    You have experience in Geriatric Medicine and /or Neurology, and an interest in Movement Disorders specifically.

    Passion and commitment to an excellent standard of work is highly desirable, and the ideal candidate will be motivated and adaptable. An understanding of medical statistics is also desirable.

    Work pattern: Full time/ 1 FTE

    Shift pattern: 40 hours per week
