Description
The flagship regional office of this global broker looks after many of York and the surrounding area's 'trophy accounts', including well-known clients from a diverse selection of industries such as leisure, construction and manufacturing.
As well as controlling the insurance programme of some of North Yorkshire's most established firms and heritage names, it also arranges the insurance of fast-growth businesses that are enjoying impressive trajectory in such sectors as science and technology.
The management team are well-respected in the local business community; The office is performing tremendously, and has seen the branch income grow significantly in recent years – driven via both organic growth and through the acquisition of quality new business.
As such, the need has arisen for an additional Account Handler to join the team, ideally in a senior capacity.
Although the finer points of the position can be tweaked to suit your skills, experience and ambitions, ideally you will be helping with the office's largest accounts, and also be acting as a technical referral point to less-experienced colleagues on an ad hoc basis.
You will be responsible for building a detailed understanding of your clients' businesses and the risks that they face.
You will scrutinise their insurance arrangements to ensure risks are adequately covered and, where gaps in cover are identified, suggest innovative solutions to mitigate these.
It is not essential that you have previous experience in a senior position or within corporate insurance, although exposure to dealing with bigger ticket clients, or having elevated responsibilities in your team, would certainly add weight to your application.
It is mandatory, however, that you have extensive knowledge of commercial insurance including a variety of covers such as Commercial Combined, Property, Liability and Professional Indemnity.
You will also be comfortable dealing with clients from a variety of industry sectors and building rapport with people from all walks of lifeThis broker is based just off the ring road near Monks Cross, with extensive parking onsite, and close to local transportation routes and plenty of amenities just minutes away.
