Job Summary
The South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Band 8b psychologist to join the Children & Young People's Gender Service (London).
This role involves working within both the Children and Young People's Gender Service and an allocated Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) to provide support. The post is a full-time position for 3 years (fixed term contract).
This position aligns with the Cass Review recommendation to maintain a broad clinical perspective by working across related NHS services to enhance the care of children and young people with gender-related distress in a broader child and adolescent health context.
Health and Educational Psychologists with significant experience in children and young people's mental health settings are also welcome to apply.
Main Duties of the Job
The Children and Young People's Gender Service offers assessment and support for gender-questioning young individuals with additional challenges such as developmental disorders, trauma, and family conflicts.
The post holder will collaborate within the Children and Young People's Gender Service and an agreed CAMHS to provide highly specialist psychology services.
