    • The Early Years Teacher ultimately has a duty of care for all children placed in their care to safeguard and promote each child's welfare.
    • They will work as part of a team to ensure all legal and curriculum requirements are met in line with Inspire Montessori Schools policies and procedures. ·
    • Good communication skills are imperative, this involves listening, questioning, and understanding and responding to what is being communicated by children and those caring for them. As part of a team they will be expected to have a clear understanding of the role and the role of other members of the team.
    • They will share information with other staff in a timely manner and work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all children within the nursery.
    • A good knowledge of child development is essential to ensure that all the children's individual needs are fully met. To be involved in the planning of the activities in your room to create and develop a stimulating environment in order to provide a high level of quality childcare whilst maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff. This involves working closely with other staff and the Room Lead in order to meet the requirements and also liaising closely with the parents to ensure each child's needs are met.
    • Undertaking training in Health and Safety as necessary, both on appointment and as required in line with legislative changes.
    • Following codes of safe working practices for both children and staff and comply with the Inspire Montessori Schools Health and Safety Policy.
    • Reporting any concerns in relation to the wellbeing and safeguarding of children and staff as outlined in the company's policies and procedures and also set by Local Authority.
    • Co-ordinate and carryout the planning and prioritising of the activities and progress in the room in order to create and develop a stimulating environment following Montessori principles.
    • Ensure a full awareness of their responsibilities in line with all company policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
    • Ensure that the room that you are responsible for complies with all aspects of various internal company audits and that any action points are addressed. ·
    • Deliver a high level of quality childcare whilst maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff.
    • Communicate with their line manager regarding the activities and progress within the room. · Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development for themselves and others. · Reflect on working practices within their room to improve the quality of childcare provided.
    • Attend and participate in staff meetings & training.
    • Be assigned as key person for a designated number of children to ensure that all their basic and developmental needs are met.
    • Be responsible for ensuring that all children within their room are safe and secure.
    • Build effective relationships with all parents within the room
    • Take sufficient care of all visitors, staff and parents in order to comply with legal requirements. · Implement, co-ordinate and supervise suitable activities to create and develop a stimulating environment.
    • Assist with the resolution of issues/queries /complaints within the room to a satisfactory conclusion. · Undertake other duties within the scope of the post as may be requested by your line manager ·
    • To ensure all areas of the nursery are serviced and maintained to the highest standards.
    • All staff are expected to: Positively support equality of opportunity and equality of treatment towards all staff in accordance with the Inspire Montessori Schools Equal Opportunities Policy.
    • Undertaking training in Health and Safety as necessary, both on appointment and as required in line with legislative changes.
    • Reporting any concerns of safe working practices for internal and external customers as outlined in the companies' policies and procedures.
    • Maintain high standards of hygiene by being an ambassador to encourage others to do the same. · Punctual and on time for your shifts at the nursery to ensure care for the children is met and adhered too
    • Attendance is above 80% for the regularity for the children.

    • Rayners Lane Montessori School provides childcare in a quiet and pleasant environment within the Beacon Centre, which is located between Rayners Lane and South Harrow. Rayners Lane Montessori provides a bright, homely & friendly environment, with individually focused areas of learning.
    • We have a large outdoor space for children's physical play, and have a focus learning outdoor classroom.
