Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor with specialist interest in Children in Care. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate about providing holistic care for these vulnerable children in partnership with social care services.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly innovative integrated neurodevelopment and disability service. We have full electronic health records and operate a paperless system. A programme of transformation is underway to make our community paediatric services state of the art.
We have a strong multidisciplinary team for complex health needs (Community Paediatrics, looked after children nursing, therapy services, paediatric psychology, community children's nursing, neurodisability specialist nursing, specialist family support and Dietetics). We are part of an integrated neurodevelopmental service with CAMHS that is recognised as a model of best practice nationally.
CPFT is a member of Cambridge University Health Partners and as such provides excellent teaching and research opportunities in partnership with the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University. We can offer the possibility of clinical lecturer roles with the universities. We host Core and Higher Specialty Grid Trainees.
Peterborough has excellent road and rail links with London ( minutes to King's Cross) and the North. The area is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has several excellent state and private schools.
Main duties of the jobThis is a Programmed Activity post. The post holder will provide medical input to the North integrated community paediatric and CAMH Team. Clinical duties will be to split between the Core Community Paediatrics, Safeguarding and Looked After Children. Together with consultant colleagues, there is a general commitment to ensure medical cover is available as needed across the Community paediatric services.
