    Accounts Payable Assistant

    Do you want to be part of a DIY/Homewares retail business renowned for their exceptionally manufactured products?

    Are you an astute finance professional with prior experience in a transactional/AP role?

    Do you have advanced Excel skills and are fully literate in Microsoft Office 365

    MacGregor Black is currently partnered with a DIY/Homewares SME retail business on the search for an Accounts Payable Assistant. This is a part-time role (3 days a week) based in Central London.

    Key responsibilities

    • Process invoices on time for supplier payments.
    • Check supplier statements, reconciling any issues quickly.
    • Monthly Trade Creditors balance sheet reconciliation
    • Overall responsibility for maintaining the controls around purchase processes
    • Record bank transactions accurately in ERP system
    • Bank reconciliations in multiple currencies.
    • Arrange payments efficiently.
    • Solve any unexpected reconciliation issues.
    • Submit VAT returns correctly and on time through ERP system

    What are we looking for?

    • Prior experience in transactional/AP role
    • Experience with bookkeeping in foreign currency
    • Excel skills (pivots, lookups, tables)
    • Fully literate with Microsoft Office 365
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Very good communications skills (both verbal and written)
    • Fully accountable for areas of responsibility
    • Able to meet deadlines and able to work on own initiative
    • Positive and resilient attitude
    • Experience with Business Central – BC365 (desirable, not essential)
