    Description

    We are seeking an enthusiastic primary teacher who is motivated and passionate about teaching to join our warm and friendly school. We welcome applications from teacher's with a passion for or specialism in any year group from Year 1 to Year 6.

    We are looking for a someone who is committed to nurturing young people through positivity, kindness and consistency in approach. You will be committed to and able to provide every child who walks through the door at Seaton the best possible educational experience through being a champion for every child and enriching the curriculum with a range of experiences in and out of school.

    We are an inclusive and diverse two-form entry school in an area of outstanding natural beauty. With an on-site woodland, swimming pool and daily mile track and the beach and wetlands on our doorstep, and through travelling further afield to places such as Exeter, Bath and Stone Henge, we make the most of our locality to provide our children with an enjoyable, enriched and meaningful curriculum. We celebrate and nurture every child to be proud of who they are as individuals and to be proud of what we all achieve together.

    Our staff team come together formally through for example training on inset days, professional development focused staff meetings and team briefings, and informally through for example shared end of term lunches, Summer events and coming together for break and lunchtimes each day.

    With a commitment to CPD and a collaborative staff team, we welcome applications from those new to the profession. One of the benefits of being a two-form entry school, is that teacher's who teach in the same year group have PPA time together in order to support joint planning and workload. ECTs receive additional time out of the classroom and dedicated weekly mentoring sessions with an experienced mentor.

    This role is to cover maternity leave from November 4th 2024. However, the school are keen for you to begin working sooner than this and getting to know the school and class on a full-time or flexible basis over the first half of Autumn term (from September).

  • Planning, teaching and assessing pupil learning;
  • Responsive teaching capitalising on teachable moments and in the moment feedback;
  • Building strong relationships with children, showing care, empathy and commitment and building warm relationships with families;
  • Inspiring a love of learning in and out of the classroom;
  • Supporting children with SEND;
  • A positive team player with good interpersonal skills and a reflective practitioner who is keen to learn and grow professionally;
  • Knowledge of a mastery approach to teaching Maths Power Maths, Maths No Problem, White Rose.
  • Desirable skills & qualities

  • A passion for a particular age and stage within primary with a secure or growing knowledge of the relevant national curriculum key objectives.
