Description

Delivering an outstanding coaching experience to all Apprentices within the School of Technology.
This is a key role, which includes direct line management and development of the coaches.

There will be a strong emphasis on performance management, which will also include some sampling activity to ensure we are aligned to Ofsted and following the ESFAfunding rules.

The primary objectives of the Performance Manager through performance management is to ensure positive learner outcomes and learner progression is on track as well as ensuring the coaches are fulfilling their responsibilities as a coach.


What you'll be doing
Team Management

  • Effectively lead and manage a team of Coaches, through 121's, caseload management and set objectives in line with the business needs and strategy.
  • Supporting your Coaches through Performance Manager (PM) conversations, CPD, observations and sampling activity.
  • Completing probation and PCDs in a timely fashion when applicable.
  • Recruiting new Coaches (when required) as well as ensuring a smooth transition into the business through the induction process.
  • Ensuring Coaches understand BPP best practice and are delivering quality coaching in line with Ofsted and ESFA expectations
Performance Management

  • Monitoring performance through Power BI using a set of KPIs, looking at, but not limited to progression, attendance, learners at risk, last seen/next seen, target grades, OTJHs.
  • Ensure timely processing of Break in Learning (BILs) and Learner nonAchievers (LNAs) in line with the business' SLAs.
  • Track EPA and work with the EPAO to ensure timely and successful completion of learners.
  • To ensure surveys are being promoted by coaches and completed by learners to support response rate, feedback and NPS.
Programme Management

  • To support and provide input and guidance from a coaching perspective to Award Leaders around programme design and implementation.
  • To work closely with the Award Leaders to ensure coaches fully understand the design and content of the programme from start to finish and have the right tools and resources to facilitate this.
  • To work with and support the Head of Student Experience for inductions for learners, contributing to content where required.
  • To facilitate the onboarding process when it comes to First Day of Learning (FDOL)
  • To review and act on student feedback provided by the Head of Student experience.
  • To support the PSO team with early identification of any potential barriers or issues that may occur.
Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Work with the Quality team to conduct internal quality assurance (IQA) across all delivery to ensure it remains in line with BPP's and industry standard.
  • To undertake (as a minimum) quarterly observations of the Coaches working on your programmes, and regularly (minimum monthly) sample their learner files and GT to ensure they remain OFSTED and ESFA compliant
  • Work with the Head of Apprenticeship Performance on any requirements from BPP's central quality team including contributing to the production of the SAR/QIP and coordination of any internal or external inspections.
