Waste Logistics and Quality Supervisor

Salary - £33,945 to £38,223 (Grade 6)

Hours - 37

Contract type - Permanent

Location - Based at Hickman Avenue Depot, can also work at any suitable location within the City of Wolverhampton, including Anchor Lane and Shaw Road Household Waste & Recycling Centres and Crown Street Waste Transfer Station.


The award-winning City of Wolverhampton Council looking to recruit a Waste Logistics and Quality Supervisor to join our dynamic Waste and Recycling team.

Based within the Quality and Logistics team in Waste and Recycling Service department, you will have to ensure that Quality and Logistics team support all areas of the Waste and Recycling Service


Duties include:

  • Overseeing the provision of support services with a particular emphasis on performance reporting and customer service
  • Ensuring contractual obligations and service standards are achieved
  • Working collaboratively with the central communications service, developing service communication across multiple platforms
  • Providing financial analysis and assistance to achieve savings through increasing operational efficiency, income opportunity and competitive procurement

Requirements for the role:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Driving licence is essential to the role
  • Previous experience in supervising staff and performance management in an administration support office setting
  • Previous experience of presenting to a variety of stakeholders including delivering employee briefings/training sessions

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style.

Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance.

Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location.

Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location.

Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
