Vacancy for 2 Community Dietitians


COMMUNITY DIETITIAN


This is an exciting opportunity to work as a NELFT Community Dietitian and provide dietetic input across the Borough of Waltham Forest and NELFT.

The post holder will be able to consolidate or gain wider experience in a range of general services including diabetes, health promotion and nutrition support within NELFT.


  • HCPC registration
  • Recognised Dietetic degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Clinical knowledge & experience across a variety of disease states and dietetic therapies.
Effective organisational skills
- to be able to prioritise and manage own workload within time and financial constraints


The main responsibilities of the post:
To provide a high standard nutrition and dietetic assessment of patients and to provide an individualised treatment programme. To seek support from a Senior Dietitian as necessary.

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

To contribute to evidence based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice.

To be involved in the review and production of nutrition and dietetic literature.

To plan and facilitate training/education sessions.


To be part of the nutrition & dietetic team, providing a nutrition & dietetic service to designated areas across the Borough of Waltham Forest and NELFT.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.

The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata).
