The Asset Monitoring Division of our client continues to expand in the UK, there is the requirement to grow the Project Delivery Team within the business to support both existing and new contracts.

In order to support this growth an opportunity existsfor several
Structural Health Monitoring Project Engineers/Senior Techniciansto join the organisation. This role would entail the planning, management and successful delivery of multiple projects.

A core part of the role is visiting our client sites- be they Victorian bridges and buildings needing monitoring or repair, or some of the country's newest and most prestigious bridge projects. The role may also potentially include some offshore(wind turbines) and international travel.


You will be responsible for::


  • Supporting delivery of projects in the office and in the field.
  • Support in the build and test of our equipment.
  • Safe delivery of site works to install equipment.
  • Work as part of the team to install our structural health monitoring software and systems in a variety of environments some more challenging than others
  • Safe delivery of scope in line with agreed scope and Project Manager / client expectations.
  • Reporting progress on jobs in a timely and professional manner

You will have the following knowledge, skills and experience::

  • Significant experience installing structural monitoring systems (wired or wireless) and sensors (strain gauges, inclinometers, accelerometers, displacement gauges, temperature gauges, etc). (Highly desirable)
  • Significant site experience. Site experience as a supervisor managing site teams.
  • Ability to prepare and work under RAMS, SSOW, Permits of Work and other site documentation.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the components and design philosophy of monitoring systems.
  • Ability to prepare site diaries and project reports.
  • Experience in a supervisor role (desirable)
  • Be flexible and available to travel to site in UK and overseas from time to time, in support of project activities.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to review sensor data and report on sensor/system status.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Safe working attitude. Good working knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation
  • Hold existing CTC level security clearance (desirable if not, then ability to obtain CTC level clearance is required).
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in basic computer programming like LabVIEW, Python, CS Basic, C++ (desirable)
  • Engineering background (mechanical, electrical or civil) desirable
  • Able to proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat PDF writer.
  • CSCS card (desirable)
  • No restrictions to work in the UK or abroad.
  • Driving licence required.
  • H&S qualification e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH (desirable)
  • Knowledge/understanding of CDM regulations (desirable)


  • Good computing skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent organisational skills SMSTS/SSSTS (desirable)
  • Experience with computer networking (desirable)
  • Knowledge of software languages/programming (desirable)
  • Confined space, Working at Height, PASMA, MEWP Training (desirable)
  • GWO Training (desirable)
  • IRATA (desirable)
  • PTS/COSS (desirable)
  • Experience working in the Rail Industry (desirable)
  • Engineering/electrical background (desirable)
  • Experience working on offshore Wind projects. (desirable)
