The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.
If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
Required for September 2024, we are recruiting either a full-time teacher or a part-time Teacher (two days/0.4 a week). The full-time vacancy will be in KS2, the part-time in either KS1 or KS2.
The vacancy is fixed term to July 2026 due to pupil numbers moving through the school.
Groombridge St. Thomas' Church of England School is a happy school with positive, friendly, highly motivated and hardworking pupils and staff. We are situated just on the Kent/East Sussex border near Tunbridge Wells (the school is in East Sussex).
This is an exciting time for us as we have been working on developing a new curriculum and the person we appoint will join us on our journey to develop creative and inspiring learning for the children. Pupil's learning, well-being, and personal development are very important to us. Strong partnerships with parents, governors, and the local community exist to support us in doing this. We currently have 146 pupils on roll, spread across six mixed-year classes.
The successful candidate would demonstrate excellent professional skills, be able to work as part of a team and be involved in building on high expectations and standards. Responsibility for curriculum areas would be agreed.
