    Job Description


    The role of the Project Manager is to be part of the Project Management team in delivering Projects to quality, programme and budget whilst will providing customer support to the sales team.

    This role involves actively co-ordinating internal resources and departments to achieve project delivery including controlling the project timelines and milestones and keeping internal / external stakeholders informed.

    It will include booking of resources through the Installations Manager and managing third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.

    The Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
    • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
    • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
    • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
    • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
    • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
    • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
    • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
    • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
    • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
    • Plan, schedule and track project timelines.
    • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements, documentation and presentations.
    • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyse results and troubleshoot problem areas.
    • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
    • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
    Flexibility

    • Your attention is drawn to the fact that in some cases particular duties and responsibilities are difficult to define in detail and may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties and level of responsibilities entailed.
    • In addition it is a requirement of all employees that they accept elements of flexibility in duties and responsibilities and when necessary interchange within the Group which will meet the changing needs and demands of the service.
    • Compliance to company policies and group management systems
    Experience

    • Must have significant experience of a similar role working on a strategic and tactical level within the retail sector
    • Must have excellent knowledge of the Health & Safety requirements for on-site operations, including Construction, Design and Management Regulations (CDM) 2015.
    • A natural communicator, with exceptional influencing skills, you will also have a demonstrable track record of strong leadership and excellent project management.
    • Must have significant experience monitoring, measuring and reporting on Adherence to SLA, Customer KPI's, and Customer Satisfaction, as well as several years experience in system installations, multiple short duration projects roll outs and knowledge in other areas of shop fitting. Evidence of additional technical shop fitting skills.
    Skills and Qualifications

    Essential

    • A minimum of 5 years direct work experience in a Project Management capacity within the retail or shop fitting industry including all aspects of process development and execution.
    • Database and operating systems experience with Microsoft packages in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • CSCS Managers Card, Asbestos Awareness Cat A, SMSTS, Emergency First Aid (1 day) are all essential requirements for the role.
    Desirable

    • Prince 2, NVQ Level 5 or college diploma in the field of Project Management would be advantageous.
    • UK PIA and JCI cards are advantageous
    Travel

    • National travel will be required with requirement to stay away when necessary.
    • Out-of-hours work will be necessary to meet the customer's demands.
    • Full driving licence required.

    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
    • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
    • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
