Illuminate are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a Chartered Institute as they continue to deliver an exciting strategy designed to innovate and increase the impact of their educational and product offering to a highly engaged membership base.

The team are growing, and we are seeking a Senior Membership Manager who wants to deliver real change and is passionate about working for a values-driven organisation.


What will you be responsible for?
We are looking for an experienced membership professional who can demonstrate a track record of delivering membership growth.

You will be able to understand the dynamics of membership and have a genuine passion for ensuring members and non-members experiencea personalised approach that gives value to them.

You will be responsible for overseeing and advising on all elements of the membership experience, including recruitment, engagement, and retention.


Duties include:

  • To coordinate and drive membership growth by leading recruitment and retention activity across the organisation.
  • To reach new audiences and attract new members.
  • To act as product owner for individual memberships and the value proposition.
  • Lead initiatives to convert nonpaying student members into paying members.
  • Create, implement and manage the annual plan and budget for Membership, including setting and agreeing KPIs and monitoring ongoing performance.
  • Lead on implementing nonchartered routes to membership (Affiliate, Corporate and Academic)
  • To lead on the commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Actively promote the diversity of members by identifying and removing barriers and acting internally and externally as a champion for diversity and inclusion.
  • Mapping existing and new products to the membership journey.
  • Work closely with and effectively manage key suppliers and agencies to ensure they continue to provide products and services that enrich the membership experience.
  • Driving member value resulting in increasing net promoter score.

What experience and skills will you need to be successful?
You will be a strong influencer and a keen advocate of change. You will be comfortable leading and delivering significant change projects and results in a membership environment.

To thrive in this role, you will need experience working with multiple stakeholders,possess impressive communication skills and be confident managing resources and budgets.

Experience in leading on digitisation and automation would be beneficial for this new position.

You will have highly developed customer service skills and be able to demonstrate and measure customer service excellence.

You will enjoy managing and coaching your team and be able to demonstrate relationship-building and collaboration in all that you undertake.

This multi-tasker is consistent in their behaviours and processes and highly organised and process driven.
