    Description

    Trading Underwriter

    Salary: Competitive depending on experience

    Location: Birmingham or Bristol

    About the job:

    • Being a multiclass underwriter functioning within agreed guidelines and authority levels to develop the book of business profitably
    • Being a great communicator who frequently engages in meaningful face-to-face meetings with brokers and/or customers to boost their confidence in us and make Aviva their preferred insurer
    • Handling brokers/customers book of business from start to finish
    • Embracing and comprehending Aviva's SME strategy
    • Being inquisitive to expand understanding of the commercial business
    • Aviva has a strong commitment to invest in all employees and our training programs enable you to enhance your knowledge and technical skills

    Skills and experience we're looking for:

    • Previous property & liability underwriting experience is preferred, but not mandatory - Full training can be provided, but some background in working in Insurance is necessary
    • The ability to assess risks and effectively communicate and present to brokers and/or customers
    • Ability to collaborate within a large complex organization
    • Good familiarity with the FCA and other pertinent regulations and laws
    • Strong business acumen to develop and deliver business cases
