The Centre for Medical Informatics in the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for an organised and proactive Research Administrator to support the smooth running of a health and data science-related research portfolio.


The Opportunity:

We wish to appoint an experienced Administrator for the Respiratory Research Group at the University of Edinburgh.

They will provide administrative support to a range of data-led research projects related to respiratory health conditions, including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, COVID-19 and near real-time surveillance for pandemic response planning.

The role includes meeting support, minute taking, budget monitoring, liaison with research and lay members, communications support and data management.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • An office administration qualification or significant equivalent experience, and previous relevant experience in an administrative role.
  • Excellent numeracy, written, oral and communication skills.
  • Good organisational, planning and time management skills with ability to prioritise and a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Capacity for independent, accurate, unsupervised work with attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Proficiency in IT skills including using MS Office, website content and social media.
