Job Description AFRY offers a challenging career path in one of the world's leading energy industry consultants.Due to the growth of our business we have a new opportunity for an Experienced Scientist or Engineer or Mathematician to join an expanding team of Safety and Reliability specialists in AFRY's Nuclear Business Unit.
The successful candidate will assist with the development and implementation of a variety of projects in nuclear safety and reliability services for a wide range of domestic and international clients.
You will contribute to projects in the following areas:Safety and Hazard Analysis
Quantified Risk Assessment
Engineering design substantiation
Plant and Site licensing
Safety case documentation production, review and update
Management of small and larger scale projects
It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way.
A Batchelor's or Master's Science or Engineering degree in a relevantSTEM subject.We undertake a lot of complex analysis, a good proportion of which is numerical, so we are looking for people with an aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis, including statistics, and the ability to pay attention to detail and preferably use MS Excel proficiently.
Virtually all the work we do requires team working so if you have good communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others within a project team and wider office environment you will fit in well.

Ability to hold appropriate level of UK security clearance for projects
Knowledge of the nuclear sector

We work with clients across the UK so a willingness to work away from your home office on UK projects for extended periods of time or abroad involving short stays is welcomeExperience in system safety analysis, including fault tree analysis and event tree analysis.
Track record of delivering technically challenging projects.
Experience working on projects in the nuclear industry.
