    Description

    Main Duties:

    • Lead and support capital projects, applying advanced automation engineering principles in the design, specification, construction, startup, and validation of complex process equipment and systems.
    • Ensure adherence to industry standards for batch control systems, software development life cycle methodologies, 21 CFR Part 11, and GAMP.
    • Develop detailed specifications, engineering documents, SOPs, and operating standards.
    • Oversee and manage process control automation in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
    • Handle process change control requests according to established SOPs and processes.
    • Lead technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, and troubleshooting for process control issues related to electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
    • Design and test both newly installed and existing automation-based process equipment. Support new product and technology introductions by performing engineering assessments, implementing system configuration changes, and supporting engineering runs.

    Qualifications and Person Specification:

    • B.S or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering, or a related life science engineering field.
    • Strong background in control system automation, particularly in design, installation, programming, and validation of automated processes.
    • Experience with the following product platforms: Emerson DeltaV DCS systems version 11 or above, and Rockwell Automation Factory Talk & ControlLogix PLC Platform.
    • Proficient in creating, updating, and interpreting electrical design packages, including SDS, URS, IQ, OQ, and VSR, among other engineering and validation documentation.
    • Knowledgeable in ASTM 2500, S88, and S95 techniques.
    • Experienced in developing automation strategies for New Product Introduction and New Technology Deployment.
    • Direct experience in process control engineering and troubleshooting unit operations such as media, harvest, bioreactors, chromatography, vial filtration, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration.
    • Knowledgeable in building automation systems, electronic batch records, PLC, OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, and DeviceNet technologies, as well as HVAC and purified water systems (RO, WFI).
