- To manage all aspects of the daily running of the Café including designing menus and controlling stock, food safety, finances and staff management
- Preparation and cooking of good quality homemade food and cakes
- To present and maintain a friendly and welcoming environment in which customers, staff and volunteers alike feel comfortable, enjoying excellent service
- To train and manage staff and volunteers in food preparation, customer service and serving techniques
- Optional - To lead on the warm and safe space activities running from 3pm-5pm weekdays
- Proven management and organisational skills - with thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Demonstrable cooking and baking skills and knowledge of menu planning/food costing
- Proven interpersonal skills - able to develop good work relationships, enjoy meeting and
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to train others
- Experience of working with volunteers and supporting disadvantaged people who may have low self-esteem.
- A Food Hygiene qualification
- Ability to transport yourself around areas where Ongo has properties to deliver buffets and attend training where required
- The postholder must undertake an enhanced DBS check due to the nature of the post
- City and Guilds catering or equivalent

VACANCY Cafe Supervisor 30 or 37 hours
Salary: £24,000 pro rata with excellent Ongo benefits including 30 days holiday per annum

We are seeking an experienced Café Supervisor to lead and develop the Café based within our flagship community centre in Westcliff, bringing energy and a combination of flexibility and enthusiasm in return for the opportunity to use own initiative and ideas to make the cafe a success.
The successful candidate will need to have:

The post holders will be expected to work flexibly within the opening hours of the cafe, including occasional weekends and evenings.
