Effectively partnering the Supply Chain Director and Supply Chain Leadership Team as they continue their journey to be Fit for the Future.

You will lead a team of 5 Senior People Business Partners,


coaching and enabling them to build and implement future facing people strategies for all five factories across the Supply Chain in East Anglia and Nottinghamshire.

You will work closely with senior leaders


across the Supply Chain to embed and evolve people performance, capability, business efficiencies and the achievement of Supply Chain objectives.

As a member of the People Leadership Team, you will play a key role in the evolution and execution of the People Agenda and will be integral to lead by by example and setting the tone for a performance-based

culture where our values are lived on a day-to-day basis.

This is an exciting time for British Sugar with the business strategy currently being refreshed with an increased focus on People.

Core Accountabilities

  • Working with the Supply Chain Director to enable the implementation of Supply Chain strategies, with specific responsibility for people, acting as coach, trusted advisor, knowledgeable expert,
- influencer and demonstrating sound judgement across all areas of the employee life cycle
  • Working with the Head of People Services implement and embed agreed transformational People processes
  • Working with the L&D team, building and developing line management and skills capability
  • Working with the Supply Chain Leadership Team to drive a focus on engagement, enabling leaders to work with insights generated by Leadership Pulse surveys
  • Own the Trade Union relationship from a people perspective working with the Supply Chain lead to deliver annual pay negotiations and engagement of wider agenda at sites
  • Key member of the People Leadership Team, working collaboratively and driving the People Agenda within the Supply Chain
  • Identify and retain talent, providing pragmatic and flexible people solutions
  • Embed succession planning and talent mapping, to ensure all factories are thinking ahead and building capability for the future ensuring cultural differences and diversity of thought are valued
  • Senior point of contact for pragmatic guidance on restructuring and ER activity and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Fully understand the key business objectives, drivers and key issues aligned to this agenda through working with the business executives.
  • Openminded approach to the business and demonstrating a willingness to challenge existing ways of doing things in the interest of better business results.
  • Ability to identify business needs and develop solutions that culturally fit at British Sugar in partnership with the wide People Team.
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies

  • Fully understand the key business objectives, drivers and key issues aligned to the Supply Chain agenda
  • Openminded approach to the business and demonstrating a willingness to challenge existing ways of doing things in the interest of better business results
  • Ability to identify business needs and develop solutions that culturally fit at British Sugar in partnership with the wide People Plan
  • Previous experience in a Senior Business Partnering role in a Manufacturing or similar organisation going through transformation programmes.
  • Strong customer focus and proven ability of building better productive relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong influencing skills with the capability of working autonomously and as an integral member of the People Team whilst being part of other Leadership Teams
