- Provide operational and high level expert advanced practice leadership, clinical advice, teaching, research, mentorship and support for staff
- Work in partnership with senior colleagues to implement the annual CDG workforce plan which integrates with the local service development plans
- Lead on the development of and implementation of clinical/policies affecting the service and wider Trust
- Be the subject expert, ensuring that the implications of national policy and directives are implemented within the Trust
- Act as a senior member of the management team ensuring Diagnostic Imaging input into strategic and operational decisions
- Provide cross cover for the General Manager as required
- Lead on and support quality and service improvement projects or development programmes that contribute to the modernisation of patient services
- Be responsible for the management, professional and operational delivery of high quality clinical care ensuring that patients are always treated with dignity and respect
- Be accountable for and work closely with other services to improve patient flow
- Participate at a senior level in negotiations with the commissioners and other external organisations on issues affecting the service
- Lead on the provision of expert advice on technical matters
- Be responsible for the Diagnostic Imaging CDG budget ensuring that each speciality manages and has effective budgetary control
- BSc Radiography or equivalent, and be registered with HCPC
- Masters level or equivalent experience
- Advanced clinical qualification relevant to the speciality
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Management/leadership qualification or equivalent level of experience.
- Project management experience (e.g. Prince II)
- Quality Management qualification
- To demonstrate a full understanding of the current issues within Diagnostic Imaging.
- To demonstrate a vision for Diagnostic Imaging and secure the active commitment of multidisciplinary staff in working towards achieving this.
- Evidence of delivering performance improvements including safer staffing, skill mix reviews, infection control, risk management, complaints and adverse incidents.
- Proven management skills demonstrated by successful resource management in a changing environment with a direct approach to problem solving, which reflects reality, requiring an effective and cooperative personal leadership style
- Evidence of ability to manage a substantial budget within financial limit.
- Strong organisational ability and well developed resource and staff management skills, able to forecast, plan and develop
- Proven ability to manage and deliver complex and changing workload, which will include the need to identify and resolve conflicting priorities within tight timescales.
- Experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders, and a successful track record of influence and engagement.
- Ability to develop networks and partnerships as required.
- Ability to demonstrate possession of excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to use them to motivate and develop staff.
- Understanding the National Health Agenda as it relates to the specific specialty.
- Understanding of the local health economy

We are looking for aLead Radiographer for Diagnostic Imaging who will be managerially and professionally responsible for the leadership and clinical effectiveness of all the Medical Imaging staff within the Medical Imaging Clinical Delivery Group - this includes Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Medical Photography and Ultrasound.In this post you will be expected to cover all ESNEFT sites.
You will be an integral member of the management team working closely with the Diagnostic Imaging General Manager and Clinical Directors. In conjunction with the Speciality Leads, you will provide effective clinical leadership and will be supported with business and operational matters by the General Manager and the Operational management Team.
You will use your experience in the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards, delivery of safe and high quality care, as well as ensuring safe, effective and seamless pathways for patients. You will also lead on the modernisation of the workforce and greaterDiagnostic Imaging/ACP led care.
As part of the senior management team you will be responsible for supporting business planning, leading workforce planning and maximising service opportunities and potential. This will be in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, resource controls and constraints and will contribute to delivering the management strategy of patient services within the care group.
