CNC Turner Setter/Operator

12 hour shift (Days or Nights) Mon to Thurs
Working for a large, well established manufacturing business in Plymouth with high-end CNC Machine technology. The purpose of the CNC Turner is to set and operate Lathe machinery to tight tolerances.


Hours of work available:
Day Shift only - Mon to Thurs hrs a week) Salary range £30,200 to £31,575.00 DOE or

Night shift only - Mon to Thurs hrs a week) Salary range £38,438.00 to £40,185.00.


Main Duties:


  • To read and understand engineering drawings & Specifications to set CNC Turning Machines
:


  • Select and correctly fit tooling, jigs and fixtures.
  • To set programs and adjust bar feeds.
  • To adjust and tweak programs.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Sign off 1st batch.
  • Work alongside quality to ensure reduced waste.
  • Use Vernier's & Micrometers.
  • Support the running of machinery and ensure coolants/oils are topped up at all times.
  • Ensure any breakdowns are reported immediately to supervisors and maintenance team.

Skills & Qualifications Required:


  • Previous experience as a Turning CNC Machinist is essential.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Excellent Maths skills and use of measuring equipment is a must.
  • Able to develop strong effective relationships with all departments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organised.
