Foundation/Staff Nurse - Band 5

You will work independently, carrying out patient care in collaboration with the registered nursing staff ensuring the smooth running of the TDA unit. You will be expected to support, supervise and develop further the role of the Health Care Assistant within the clinical area.

The post holder will be required to work flexible shift work.

Main duties of the job An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 TDA Registered Nurse to join our team in Theatre Direct Admissions at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. The post holder must have an NMC registration.

It is essential that the person is enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate about providing high-quality, safe, patient-centred care. Good communication skills are essential as the ability to work with people as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Job description Job responsibilities - Demonstrate and promote a patient and family centred style of clinical practice.- Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care from admission to discharge.- Accurately document and report to other members of the nursing team, multi-disciplinary team and family/carers regarding the care given to patients, and communicating changes as they occur.- Respond to emergency situations with composure, maintaining patient safety and seeking immediate support, and supporting the patient, family/carers and other staff as required- Identify and discuss patient needs with the team/staff, patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team. Be able to plan own workload.- Demonstrate a problem solving approach to effectively execute planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised plans of care based on a person centred model of care.- Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers and other staff, overcoming barriers to understanding and providing support during distressing or emotional events.- Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.
