Are you experienced in effective transformational financial leadership? Do you have credible experience within an established finance team? If this sounds like you, you could be our new Assistant Director of Finance

You will form part of our established financial team working for the Shangri-la Hotel, The Shard, London. You will work collaboratively alongside our established and respected Financial Director, managing the Hotels' relationship with various stakeholders.


You will support the Financial Director with a variety of duties, inclusive of but not limited to key submissions, such as year-end financial statements and tax submissions for external auditors.


You will ensure that our month-end process is completed on time with all accounts reconciled and reviewed before closure, this will be delivered by you in a professional and timely manner.

Liaising and co-operating with 'Internal/External Auditors', you will maintain and ensure effective programs in relation to property audits.

Actions will be taken promptly by you when required to maintain high standards in ways of working, ensuring that corrective action is promptly taken where required.


Within your role you will assist in driving accountability for controls into the relevant departments to enable finance to act as reviewer and advisor of best practice.

Alongside this you will assist in the continuous review and development of best practice Financial Accounting and Control procedures to maximise impact and efficiencies.

Does this sound like you?

You are well versed in preparing financial statements, inclusive of planning, supervising, and supporting teams.


You deliver your work in a timely manner preparing monthly reports in line with internal and external holding company requirements.


Within your previous experience you can demonstrate overseeing leasing and sub-rental accounts, capital expenditures and special repairs and maintenance budgets.

You have proven experience in preparing financial statements, coordinating tax computations, provisions, and reporting, preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash-flows.

You will have experience with accounting operations, potentially supervising and monitoring an accounting department.


Your Leadership style will be clear and succinct, setting and maintaining high standards whilst leading the team and motivating those around you.
