We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to the post of Head of Religious Education & PHSE from September 2024.

You will be joining a supportive, close knit and ambitious Humanities Faculty and staff body. As a mature department with experienced leadership and established schemes of work we offer both support and the chance to develop as a professional. We are keen to recruit a team player who is eager to inspire and motivate our students and deliver our diverse and forward looking curriculum.

If successful you will teach KS3 and KS4 Religious Studies to all ability ranges. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high quality lessons and achieving excellent results for our students, instilling in them a love for the subject and a desire to learn.

Working with the Assistant Headteacher, Personal Development, you will collaborate with colleagues to integrate PSHE principles into cross-curricular activities and school wide initiatives, as well as providing pastoral support and guidance to students as needed, promoting mental health and well-being. PSHE is currently delivered through our tutor team and you will work alongside the Head of Year in ensuring the effective delivery of the PSHE curriculum.

Prendergast Vale School is a small all-through school providing high quality education from nursery to Year 11, which aims to transform the lives of all the children who attend the school. By keeping the school small, we have created a community of pupils and teachers where no pupil is left behind which has enabled us to create an environment in which pupils want to learn, achieve and behave well. The school benefits from being part of the Leathersellers' Federation of Schools and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the Trust.
