Job overview


North Care Network (NCN) is a Primary Care Network made up of 3 likeminded GP practices based in North Lincolnshire, with a registered patient population of 33,533.

We are looking to expand our multi-disciplinary team by recruiting an additional

Physician Associate (PA) to join our existing PAs, working across the 3 member practices:

-Central Surgery, Barton Upon Humber

-Winterton Medical Practice

-Bridge Street Surgery - Brigg


Working across the PCN you will act within your professional boundaries to provide care for the presenting patient, delivering a high standard of advanced autonomous clinical skills with in-depth theoretical knowledge and evidence-based.

You will become an important and valued member of our existing team of physician associates.


Job Summary


Working as part of the primary care team you will work across the PCN GP practices providing advice for the presenting patient.

This will include history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Provide the first point of care contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems by utilising history taking, physical examinations and clinical decisionmaking skills to establish a working diagnosis and management plan in partnership with the patient (and carers).
  • Offer specialised clinics (where competent), but not limited to family planning, baby checks, COPD, asthma, diabetes and anticoagulation.
  • Provide health promotion and prevention advice, alongside analysing and actioning diagnostic test results.
  • Develop integrated patientcentred care. l
  • Promote evidencebased practice and partake in clinical audits, significant events reviews and other related activities.
  • Participate fully in the duty rota across the PCN, including face to face, remote consultations and homes visits for both emergency and routine matters and longterm conditions.
  • Working under the supervision of a doctor as part of a medical team.

Management of workload and personal development
Act on own initiative in prioritising and managing workload, in respect of clinical, managerial, and administrative areas, as necessary.


Maintain own personal and professional development as agreed at your annual review utilising a reflective approach to practice, operating under appropriate clinical supervision.
