Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a flexible, enthusiastic and committed Occupational Therapist to work in the Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS) which is integral to Community Health Services.

CINSS was established in 2016 as part of the Better Care Together Initiative and strives to provide specialist integrated care to patients in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The team continues to rapidly evolve and provides varied exciting opportunities to develop the service further, both clinically and organisationally. The successful candidate will join a specialist multi-disciplinary team comprising of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Neuropsychologist, Rehabilitation Consultant and Generic Rehabilitation Technical Instructors.

The team provides specialist neuro-rehabilitation in Community and Outpatient settings to people with a wide range of neurological conditions and stroke.

Main duties of the job

This post requires a dedicated autonomous Occupational Therapist with sound clinical experience in Neurology and/or Stroke rehabilitation. Previous Community experience would also be advantageous. The successful candidate will be supported in managing a complex caseload in a busy, developing environment. Excellent organisational, communication and team working skills are required for this position, along with the ability to support and train other members of the CINSS team. The service provides regular opportunities for both formal and informal training and role development. There are also rotations within the service into the Discharge to Assess and 3-day response teams and outpatients.

You will work per week (part-time will be considered). If you are short-listed you will be invited to undertake an Assessment / Interview on 11th June 2024.

The CINSS team hub is at Braunstone Health and Social Care Centre, with spoke bases at Loughborough Hospital, Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital, St Lukes Treatment Centre (Market Harborough) and Melton Mowbray Hospital.

The successful candidate will be based at one of these locations with an expectation to cover across other areas in line with service demand.
