    Job Title: Psychiatric Liaison Clinician at West Suffolk Hospital

The Psychiatric Liaison Service at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds is on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated individual to become part of their passionate team.

    This role plays a crucial part in assisting individuals with mental health difficulties at the hospital, ensuring their needs are identified and met effectively while contributing to discharge planning.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct mental state assessments of patients in the hospital's assessment departments or on wards
    • Evaluate mental health requirements upon patients' discharge from West Suffolk Hospital
    • Assess and manage risks
    • Enhance awareness of mental health matters within the hospital, establish partnerships, and pathways for better patient outcomes
    • Engage positively with colleagues across the Trust and external services

    About the Team:

    The Psychiatric Liaison Service forms part of the crisis pathway within West Suffolk care group, serving as a central referral point for various mental health specialties. The team values a strong team culture and collaborative working environment, offering involvement in training, strategic initiatives, and service enhancements.

    Requirements:

    Education

    Essential:

    • Nursing degree, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology, or equivalent
    • Engaged in ongoing professional development towards a degree

    Desirable:

    • Further education related to leadership or advanced clinical skills

    Experience

    Essential:

    • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health practices
    • Worked in a team delivering person-centered treatment plans

    Desirable:

    • Experience in providing group-based interventions
