    Description

    We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and motivated Mathematics teacher with an infectious passion for the subject to join us.

    This is an exciting opportunity for you to create innovative and exciting learning opportunities for our students.

    You must be confident in the delivery of Mathematics and have the ambition and dedication to continue to develop the curriculum in line with current practice and research in effective teaching.

    You will be able to support in the promotion of excellent standards of student learning, achievement, progress, attainment and behaviour through working effectively and collaboratively.

    You will be passionate about your specialist subject and seek to positively impact your field and the Academy.
    Following on from 10 years as a specialist Technology College, de Ferrers became an Academy in January 2011.

    It has grown into a large, split-site, co-educational institution catering for the full range of students from ages 11 to 18.

    In 2015, de Ferrers became the first school of The de Ferrers Trust (a Multi Academy Trust).

    Excellent funding has allowed the Academy to enhance resources and equipment and widely promote the use of new technologies.

    There are digital projectors and flat-screen TVs in all curriculum areas, with over 500 computers and laptops across all sites.

    From October 2012, the Academy became the first school in Staffordshire to provide all sixth form students with access to a personal one-to-one iPad for use in lessons and at home.

    Currently, all students in Years 9 to 13 (Trent and Sixth Form Campuses) have their own iPad, as well as all teaching staff and most support staff.

    The Maths faculty consists of 15 expert Maths teachers, the vast majority of whom trained at de Ferrers.

    Across Y7–11, we use Sparx Maths for homework, which enables our students to make high levels of progress whilst keeping staff workload low.

    We also offer Level 2 Further Maths to help our highest-achieving students prepare for A Level Maths.
    At KS5, we have a sizeable A Level Maths cohort of 70 students, and our students continue to achieve excellent outcomes (77% A*–B in We also offer Further Maths at A Level, providing lots of opportunities to teach a variety of mathematical content.

    The de Ferrers Trust is a Multi Academy Trust comprising three Secondary Academies and four Primary Academies, currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire.
