Applications are invited for a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Lower Limb Arthroplastybased at Leighton Hospital, Crewe.The orthopaedic sub division is supported by a full time Consultant Orthogeriatrician and a accompanying team.
Whilst the successful candidate will work the majority of their time at Leighton, there will be occasions where it will be necessary to work a Victoria Royal Infirmary for outpatient clinics.
The successful candidate will provide a rage of duties including elective operating, trauma operating, elective and fracture clinics, MDT and on-call.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K).
The Trust provides high quality planned and emergency care, cardiac, critical care,child health,maternity services and intermediate care at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.
A comprehensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools through ourCentral Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership.

There is a requirement for the successful candidate to participate on the on-call rota and this is currently 1:12 weekends and 1 weekday every 3 weeks.
CESR or European Community RightsAn appropriate higher qualification in Trauma and Orthopaedics
Further postgraduate degree
Specialist Registrar Training or equivalent in Orthopaedic Surgery
Managerial Training
Lower limb arthroplasty and soft tissue knee surgery training with fellowship
Proven ability in trauma and orthopaedic surgery
Evidence of personal outcome data related to specialist interest in lower limb surgery with fellowship training
Evidence of expericence in research and relevant publications related to lower limb surgery and trauma
Evidence to allow accreditation as a Consultant Clinical Supervisor for trainee doctors with the GMC
Evidence to allow accreditation as a Consultant Educational Supervisor for trainee doctors with the GMC
