Holroyd Precision Rotors are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, experienced Production Engineer with a good understanding of Turning, someone who is keen to make an impact and assist in streamlining our production processes in our UK factory based in Rochdale and support our two other manufacturing cells in China and the USA.

You will be joining a company that is amongst the world leaders in the manufacture and supply of high precision compressor rotors, supplying to customers across the globe.

Production Engineer Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring all preproduction activities are carried out successfully and in a time conscious manner to meet production delivery deadlines (Turning biased)
  • Writing machine programmes (in Fanuc/ Okuma) and identify tooling requirements
  • Leading feasibility reviews for new components and determining best manufacturing method
  • Driving improvements in production processes through proven methodology and the involvement of stakeholders
  • Supporting Sales by creating accurate BoMs using MRP system (Epicor)
  • Creating programmes using FeatureCAM for CNC Lathes or Power Mill for HMC and VMC
  • Producing CAD stage drawings using Solid Edge

Production Engineer Requirements:


  • Qualified to HNC/HND level or above in mechanical engineering, with substantial manufacturing experience in Turning (knowledge of Milling and Grinding would be an advantage)
  • Familiarity with machine controls preferably Fanuc and Okuma
  • Previous experience in producing stage drawings or similar, and proficient user of CAD packages such a Solid Edge (2019)
  • Ideally you will have previously worked for a manufacturing business producing components of tight tolerances and supported the whole production process from quotation to delivery
  • A strong advantage would be experience of working with an MRP system
  • Familiar with Lean manufacturing techniques, possessing the drive and tenacity to introduce improvements
  • Willingness to travel abroad to support our sister companies in China and America

Permanent


Hours:

Full Time, 37 hours per week, work pattern: 4 1⁄2 days, Mon - Thurs 7:45 to 16:30, Fri 7:45 to 11.

Salary:
£37,000 to £39,000 per annum dependent on experience


Benefits:

Life assurance of 4 x salary; Pension of up to 6% matched contributions; 25 days holiday increasing with service, plus 8 days statutory.
