The Gallagher Major Risk Practice team based from our London City Office are seeking an Account Handler to join their established team.

Working together with experienced Account Managers and Account Executives, you will provide superb yet varied services to our many customers.

Servicing your client accounts during the renewals process; admin, presentations, negotiating premiums and managing all paperwork.


Our Major Risks Practice provide carefully tailored business insurance, risk management and risk transfer solutions for large enterprises and multinationals.

You will work with experienced Insurance Professionals and together provide outstanding service to our customers.


Your Role:


  • Working in partnership with our Account Manager and Account Executives, to deliver the needs of your clients. First class interpersonal skills, dedicated to customer happiness and aware of maximising opportunities are critical to your success.
  • Building renewals documents, reports, balancing the midterm adjustments and crafting new quotes for customers. A high attention to detail is essential when dealing with this much information.
  • Ensure client details are recorded accurately and entered onto Acturis quickly; this allows us to keep all client records accurate for audit purposes.
  • Don't leave it too late Provide cover by renewal date to meet your client needs. Being organised, efficient and dedicated to your clients means you handle all of this on their behalf.
  • Assist your clients with queries daily, confirm cover with the insurers, process policies and chase up outstanding documentation when required.
  • Manage all account queries and credit control matters, highlighting any concerns to account managers on time.
  • Previous experience working with Commercial insurance products gained in a broking, insurer or MGA environment.
  • Holding or working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications, Cert CII, Dip CII or ACII would be an advantage. Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, with an intermediate knowledge of the commercial insurance industry.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is crucial, as is having worked to targets within a regulated, measurable framework and achieved SLAs.
  • Risk aware in handling customer information, 100% customer centric, focussed on the best possible outcome for our customers at all times.
  • Due diligence and process driven to deadlines, task focused, results oriented and takes initiative when assisting team members
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, confident when building and maintaining rapport, strong planning and analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS office, and Acturis experience would be advantageous.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
