    Fixed Term/Secondment for 9 to 12 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Occupational Therapy Team based in Perth City.

The post holder will provide occupational therapy interventions to enable and support people to achieve their best possible personal outcomes within the home and community settings. This may involve the use of specialist assessment, current evidence based treatments, or techniques to support decision making, goal achievement, empowerment through independence, supported self-management and recovery where possible.

The post holder will also be responsible for supporting the team leader with the day to day running of the service, supervising the learning and development of staff and ensuring the provision of high quality person centred care.

The post holder should possess good communication and decision-making skills and have a positive approach to multidisciplinary / integrated team working. Excellent time management, resilience and prioritisation skills are essential for delivery of an efficient and effective service.

Applicants must be registered with HCPC. Applicants should have relevant experience working as an Occupational Therapist within physical rehabilitation services.

Informal enquiries to: Julia Cangulen, Team Lead Community Rehabilitation Occupational Therapy Team Email : or Telephone :

Internal candidates: Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.

Hours of work are: 18.3 hours. Please note this is a part-time post and the salary will be pro rata.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.

NHS Tayside is committed to equality and diversity and welcomes applicants from all sections of the community.

Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email. Please check your emails regularly, including your junk/spam folder.
