    Community Host / Leisure Assistant - Greatfields School - Barking, London

    Job Type: Part Time, Zero Hour Contract

    Salary: £8.60 - £11.44 per hour

    Job Purpose: To warmly receive our Hirers and their groups at the schools' facilities, ensuring all spaces are unlocked and prepared on time for each group to fully enjoy their visits.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Deliver an exceptional experience for our hirers, ensuring all customers have a positive and memorable time. Aid hirers in setting up facilities for rentals & other school events, from arranging sports equipment to activating the lights.
    • Perform light cleaning tasks to maintain the school's premises as found – from a quick sweep to rearranging chairs and storing equipment properly. We aim to lessen the workload for schools and teachers the following day.
    • Prioritize the security and safety of our school. The Community Host opens and securely locks gates and doors at the end of each shift.
    • Conduct regular health and safety inspections during the shift, reporting any safety concerns or faulty equipment promptly to maintain high standards and ensure everyone onsite remains safe.
    • Comprehensive training is provided, both in-person and through our online platform, to ensure the Community Host is well-versed in their role. Training covers school facilities, safeguarding, manual handling, fire safety, and customer service.
    • We uphold quality in our work and service. If it enhances these standards, the Community Host may assist with additional tasks not mentioned above to support the school, hirers, and the Vivify team.
