Accounts Assistant (Okehampton)


Our client is a thriving and award-winning accountancy practice who are seeking an Accounts Assistant for their office in Okehampton.

On your day to day, you will:

  • Prepare and input client transactions onto systems.
  • Reconciliation of sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Bookkeeping.
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Prepare TAX and VAT returns.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT/EC Sales list returns for review.
  • Support with the preparation of annual financial statements, including statutory accounts, partnership accounts and sole trader accounts for tax purposes.
  • Keeping clients' accounting records up to date
  • Other client administration including engagement letters and billing processes.
  • Some general admin duties to support partners and management.

Skills and experience required:


  • Experience within a similar position in accounting in a practice firm, industry considered
  • Ideally part or fully qualified ACCA/ACA/AAT or QBE
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Xero
  • Understanding of accounting standards

Salary:
£24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
