    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band staff nurse for hrs per week to join our Special Care Baby Unit at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

    The SCBU is an bedded unit with one stabilisation space. We have nine special care cots and two high dependency cots. We are part of the north wales neonatal network, working in partnership across the three units. We pride ourselves on being a friendly team working to provide high standard family centred care for our patients and families.

    Main duties of the job

    As a Band registered nurse, you will carry out clinical practice ensuring high quality and current evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations for patients is provided from admission through to discharge. Working as partners in care at all times with the parents and families to provide family centred care.

    We have great education and development opportunities, thanks to our close links with our local universities, along with induction and orientation. You will be supported and will gain the opportunity to enhance your skills through continuing professional development. It is a requirement of the role on SCBU that you need to complete the Neonatal QIS course, and will be supported with this.
