**The Psychology Department in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant on an 18-month fixed term, part time (0.8FTE/28 hours) basis.
The Opportunity:
The post holder will assist Principal Investigator Dr Thomas Bak on the project 'Multilingualism and religious experience', which seeks to explore how religious experience, its communication and moral judgements can be influenced by different languages.
The post holder will assist with screening the literature, research design and implementation (including identifying, recruiting and maintaining contact with participants), data collection and analysis (through focus groups and individual testing), and writing up project results and their presentation at meetings and conferences.
The post holder will have a fluent command of the Polish language and demonstrable knowledge of Polish culture and customs, in particular those related to religious practices.
Opportunities for discussion on informal hybrid workplace arrangements can be discussed at the time of offer, however please note that some on campus working is required.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Undergraduate or MSc degree in psychology or another discipline relevant for the project.
- Experience of developing research design, conducting data collection and analysis in previous projects.
- Fluent command of Polish language, demonstrable knowledge of Polish culture and customs, in particular those related to religious practices.
- Excellent social and communication skills, ability to approach new people, work with them and maintain contact with them. Respect for different views and different religious creeds, attitudes and practices.
