Equality, Diversity - Manchester, United Kingdom - Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
Description
This is an exciting project opportunity to improve access, education and the experience of patients with a cancer diagnosis from an ethnic minority group and/or areas of deprivation.
It is recognised that patients from ethnic minority groups experience poorer cancer care and increased mortality, and those living in a deprived area are at a 28% higher risk of mortality as a consequence of their cancer diagnosis.
We are looking for somebody with a passion to help reduce these inequalities by meeting with people from these groups in their communities to find out how we can support them more effectively to reduce the inequalities they experience.
The EDI Practitioner will support the effective implementation and embedding of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in relation to Personalised Cancer Care at the Trust, working in partnership with a range of EDI stakeholders and groups.
You will manage the Personalised Cancer Care EDI project and share best practice, seeking opportunities to strengthen and integrate EDI into the delivery of divisional and Trust wide plans.
You will provide advice, taking an evidence-based approach to develop plans, policy, guidance and resources, contributing to mainstreaming and embedding equality and inclusion in accordance with the Personalised Cancer Care agenda.
