- Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Swimming Pool file
- Conduct daily checks of water, signage, and buoyancy aids
- Provide safety instructions at each session start and enforce compliance
- Supervise non-lifeguarding staff during swimming sessions
- Administer and oversee swimming tests
- Maintain written records of tests and aids
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for bather safety
- Respond quickly to emergencies
- Securely lock the pool when not in use
- Proactively prevent accidents and maintain pool cleanliness
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance
- Organize age-appropriate activities
- Encourage participation and follow activity schedule
- Oversee children's safety and well-being
- Follow camp systems and procedures
- Act as a positive role model
- Report Child Protection concerns
- Accommodate children with special needs
- Maintain equipment and ensure child welfare
- Be flexible in fulfilling job duties

Lifeguard Position at Summer Camp in Harlow, Essex
Hours: 09:00 – 16:30
Salary: £529.53 per week (dependent on age, experience, and qualifications)
Reporting to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office
Barracudas prioritize safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and youth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
REQUIREMENTS
Must hold a valid NPLQ from RLSS, STA, or HABC
Pass Barracudas Lifeguard Competency Assessment
Be alert, disciplined, physically fit, with good hearing and vision
Minimum age of 18
Eligible to work in the UK
Provide professional/academic references
Enhanced DBS check required
Attend training sessions as necessary
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
