Pinsent Masons has many non-lawyers within the firm and many within the tax team.Purpose of the role
Working as part of the existing team, this role has several elements to it including:
- Assisting with regularising corporate and individual tax affairs. This can include innocent errors by corporates or individuals or even disclosing and rectifying tax evasion;
Research and production of technical tax advice or internal notes; and
Assistance with various tax compliance activities.
This could be producing, or assisting with the production of, Corporation Tax returns, Construction Industry Scheme returns, VAT returns, Income Tax returns or any other taxes including payroll filings;.
You will be expected to provide excellent customer service at all times, making positive contributions to building the business of the firm.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting the team could include the following activities:
- Producing (under guidance) tax computations for submission to HMRC;
- Assisting with the preparation of reports for submission to HMRC;
- Attending meetings with colleagues;
- Assisting with billing and time analysis;
- Assisting with file opening procedures including preparing and submitting new client/matter forms / running conflict checks;
- Assisting with daytoday administration
- Liaising with clients concerning their tax filings and obligations
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- As a minimum good A-Level results. Equally a suitable accountancy qualification or ATT would be useful.
Relevant Experience:
- Previous office experience required
- Previous experience of working in a professional services environment advantageous;
- Previous tax compliance experience preferred.
