Information Services Division (ISD) is the primary provider of IT services to UCL. We support and enhance learning, teaching, research and administrative processes by providing information
- and technology-related services to over 50,000 staff and students of UCL and associated institutions.
Our goal is to be the leading IT services group in the HE sector and we are growing our team's capability in experience/UX, agile development, security, cloud, service management and partnering.
We are modernising our technology foundations, digitising the processes of the university to transform experience for students and staff, and partnering across the university to drive differentiation in UCL education and research.
Within ISD, this post is in Digital Education, UCL's hub for supporting, exploiting and enhancing the use of technology in education.
High level departmental objectives are:
- Providing and enhancing core digital education and educational media services;
- Supporting and spreading excellent practice;
- Innovating and evaluating;
- Developing fullyonline learning capability and capacity;
- Developing digital capabilities of staff and students;
- Supporting digital accessibility.
About the role:
As a Senior Learning Technologist, you will provide coordination and expertise in learning technology with a focus on the Wiseflow and Moodle platform as well as other assessment technologies.
You'll support academics and network with colleagues in both academic and professional services roles as well as design and provide training, cascade developments to departments, support strategic planning, collect, and share practice, liaise with suppliers and play an active role in the assessment agile product team.

About you:
As an experienced Learning Technologist within UCL, you have substantial expertise in assessment-related learning technologies, along with a strong understanding of digital pedagogy.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Educated to degree standard (or equivalent), or relevant experience in developing, promoting, supporting and evaluating a range of educational technologies to enhance teaching, learning and assessment in an education or training context
- An understanding of how digital technologies can be used to enhance learning, teaching and assessment
- An understanding of the pedagogical, social and cultural issues affecting the adoption of new learning environments/technologies and ability to develop strategies to deal with them
- Expertise in the use of virtual learning environments, online assessment tools and lecture capture software.
