    Description

    Project Scheduler

RPS is looking for a Project Scheduler to join our Technical Consultancy team, working across a range of offshore renewable and oil and gas projects in the UK and Ireland, and globally as we continue to expand into new markets. We operate a hybrid working arrangement and you can be based in Chepstow, Edinburgh, Woking, Manchester or London. We have flexible working opportunities, including part time roles, to ensure a balance of family and working life.

We are at the forefront of the industry - delivering offshore infrastructure projects in complex marine environments including offshore wind farm developments. Our experience includes 20 years at the forefront of the industry, working across the UK, wider Europe, America, Australia and Asia.

We're RPS, our projects are all around you. We define, design and manage projects that create shared value to a complex, urbanising and resource-scarce world. Our people are our success. We need people who share our passion on solving the problems that matter. Here you'll find work that is engaging and rewarding, and you'll be supported every step of the way.

    What you'll be doing

The Project Scheduler at RPS Energy is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules for large-scale Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRAs) for Renewable energy projects. This role involves assisting project managers in schedule planning, coordinating tasks, monitoring timelines, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently and on time. The Project Scheduler also plays a key role in identifying potential scheduling delays, facilitating remedial actions, and maintaining an efficient scheduling management system tailored to EIA and HRA projects.

    ·Schedule Development and Management:

oDevelop and manage schedules for large-scale EIA and HRA projects using scheduling software/tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.

oCreate, monitor, and analyse project schedules in accordance with best project practices.

oEnsure accuracy of project schedules, perform version control, and track baselines.

oPrepare, implement, and monitor scopes of work using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for control and integrity.

oCreate, update, and maintain the project Plan, including Activities, WBS, Durations, and Critical Path mapping.

    ·Monitoring and Reporting

oMonitor project progress, identify critical activities, and review forecasts and progress achieved to date.

oReview, interpret, and report on KPIs such as schedule performance, forecast, and critical path.

oTrack, review, and report information to allow project teams to manage projects effectively and evaluate weekly reports.

    ·Risk Management:

oMaintain a project risk register to ensure risks are effectively managed to minimize their impact on schedule, scope, and budget.

oPerform what-if analysis and develop contingency plans to address potential scheduling conflicts or delays.

    ·Stakeholder Coordination:

oWork with internal departments and external stakeholders to coordinate project timelines and tasks.

oCollaborate with cross-functional departments to identify project issues, monitor action items, and work with project managers to ensure resolution.

This role is a great opportunity to work in project scheduling but also gain experience across the full project controls remit - proposals and bids, contract management and financial management. You will work closely within our experienced Project Controls team to develop your skills in all aspects of project controls.

    Who we're looking for

·You have a degree qualified or equivalent education in engineering, project management or related subject.

·You have strong project scheduling software skills (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) and desirable Power BI.

·You will be enthusiastic about developing your skills further and interested in working towards qualifications in Project Management, such as PMP, APM or Prince2. We can support you in this journey.

·You are proactive, as no two days are the same in this role. You won't be satisfied with the status quo and will take initiative to challenge and develop new ideas.

    What's in it for you?

A personal development plan and a transparent career pathway puts you in the driving seat of your career If you're interested in how we use and manage the marine environment, want to help meet NetZero targets and, support projects that tackle climate change through the development of offshore renewable energy, then talk to us about our career opportunities in this area.
