- Flooding represents a crucial challenge both now and into the future as the impacts of climate change become apparent. Having strategic overview of all sources of flooding, the Environment Agency has a key role. As an FCRM Advisor in the Partnerships and Strategic Overview (PSO) Team, you will be working at the very heart of this organisation, helping to reduce flood risk to people and property across the East Midlands. This team's role is extremely varied and requires a diverse range of transferrable skills.
- As Senior User, represent the EA (client) to contribute to planning and delivery of schemes that help to reduce flood risk to communities
- Forge constructive relationships and create partnerships with communities, Risk Management Authorities, businesses and internal teams to reduce flood risk while realising environmental benefits
- Help improve the data through which we base our decisions
- Help with our response to environmental and flood incidents
- Help deliver and coordinate a response to our statutory planning and permitting duties.
You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.
This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team
- Partnership and Strategic Overview Team (PSO) work with all Risk Management Authorities and communities to design, develop, fund and deliver flood risk projects to reduce risk to communities. We compile and use the best available evidence through our mapping/modelling and data work to inform our longterm plans and investment programme. PSO provide advice for development proposals, process permits for works affecting main rivers and working closely with planners, to influence new developments.

- Deliver work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
- Working under own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes
