We have been asked to help a business based in County Durham find a qualified Accountant to join their team working in a Commercial Business Partner role.

Purpose

Working as part of a small finance function to ensure the provision of providing quality and timely management information to pillar management and the Group finance function.

The specific role will focus on the accounting and reporting of projects, ensuring the systems and processes are fit for purposes and continually reviewed and improved.

Accountability
Accountable for ensuring management information is on time, accurate and understandable. Accountable for accounts systems and reporting maintenance and development.
Specific Responsibilities

  • Working with the FD in provision of divisional management information in line with Group and MD requirements (monthend reporting packs).
  • Biweekly cashflow forecasts
  • Key bridge between Finance and Commercial Teams:
  • Assist project team in production & review of monthly reviews
  • Processing monthly contract accounting
  • Project credit control
  • Review of project performance, attendance at monthly reviews
  • Labour allocations, staff utilisation
  • Ensuring costing accuracy
  • Ensuring the correct IT setup of new projects and employees
  • Budgeting and reforecasting
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Key involvement in introduction of new ERP / IT systems
  • Ensure implementation of new ways of working are successful and effective
  • Assist with ensuring full compliance on contracts. Escalate issues if required.
  • Other duties as maybe directed by the pillar management team or Group Finance.

Whilst this role will be predominantly project focussed, the finance team operates in an open and inclusive manner, tasks are shared to ensure cover for absence and processes are reviewed and improved as a team.

It is likely that you have worked in a highly commercial role historically and would enjoy being involved in high profile projects.

The role will pay circa £60-70k plus benefits.
