- Registered Professional at degree level either Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
- Evidence of Post Qualifying Continuing Professional Development
- Mentoring Qualification or equivalent
- Specialist training or short course relevant to role at diploma level.
- Extensive theatre experience and / or cardiothoracic knowledge including the knowledge and skills for assessing and interpreting complex needs of patients/ surgeons and anaesthetists
- Ability to treat all patient/employee information confidentially
- Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate information verbally which maybe sensitive/difficult
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

- Proven evidence of resilience dealing with major cardiothoracic and chest trauma cases.

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge. We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. It also offers emergency heart attack treatment, sleep centre care and is one of just five centres nationally for those in severe respiratory failure.
