    About the roleDo you have experience in teaching, especially SEN? Do you have a passion that drives change for those with a learning disability? An exciting opportunity has arisen for two passionate and creative Tutors, to join our Supported Internship programme.

    The roles are permanent full time (37.5 hours a week) Monday to Friday.

    You will have the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team as well as help young people with a learning disability, learning difficulty and / or autism access the world of work.

    Are you looking for an opportunity to deliver fun and engaging lessons by thinking outside of the box? Great because we need you You will have at least one full day of planning and admin time per week to support you in your role.

    As a tutor you will focus on the delivery of the educational element of the Supported Internship programme.

    You will work closely with other colleagues including; skills coaches, employer engagement officers, the programme co-ordinators and welfare officers who work collaboratively to form a team around the learners.

    Together we are MencapDo you have the key skills and requirements for the tutor role?EssentialPassion for supporting the progress of those with learning disabilities and / or learning difficultiesExperience of supporting and / or mentoring othersExperience of working with small groupsA-C / 9-4 English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent)Good time management and planning skillsDesirableExperience of working with diverse groupsQualifications in education or teaching (DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd)Knowledge and experience of delivering and assessing functional skills in English and Maths up to Level 2Experience and knowledge of safeguardingClassroom management skills and strategiesVisits to our site are warmly invited and highly encouraged.

    All candidates offered an interview for this role will be needed to provide evidence of their GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) as well as their education training (if applicable).Please note – the salary will be dependent on your level of qualification.
