Non-Teaching Assistant SENDCo & Learning Mentor

32.5 hours per week, Mon to Fri 8.40 am to 3.40 pm (some potential for flexibility of more or less than 32.5hrs, to suit the right candidate)

190 days per academic year ie: term time + some Inset days

AGS Pay Scale E: Actual Pro Rata Salary of £20, 467 - £21, 179 per annum

We are looking to appoint an Assistant SENDCo & Learning Mentor to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team. Responsibilities include:

Leading the SEND team one day a week in the absence of the SENDCo
Contributing to and Leading team meetings
Helping to coordinate the identification of and support for students with Additional Needs (especially in the Sixth Form)
Working alongside and directing the Learning Support Assistant in their support of Sixth Form Students
Working with students who have dropped a subject in Year 10 and 11 to receive additional support
Coordinating departmental interventions at KS4
Coordinating Sixth Form Mentors to support learning lower down the school

We are a small team, currently consisting of the SENDCo, Learning Support Coordinator and three Learning Support Assistants. The successful candidate will be both committed and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills; they need to be confident to lead the team in the SENDCo's absence. Previous experience of supporting students with SEND in a secondary or further education setting would be advantageous.
