About us


My Life is a highly respected charity and we are currently seeking a number of experienced Personal Assistants / Support Workers to join a new team of Community based staff in Chorley.

My Life was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives.

My Life currently provides care and support to a growing number of individuals who have complex health and social care needs across the North West of England.

Our staff are integral to the success of the charity as they are the ones making a real difference to people's lives.


Your Responsibilities


There is a Personal Assistant / Support Workers role available supporting a young lady who has a keen interest in music, attending sensory centres and day trips to a local safari park.

This lady will also attend our My Life Standish site to stay at our Chalets overnight.

Your role will be to support with her daily routine, provide personal care and to assist in accessing the community.

As part of the My Life team, you will ensure that care is provided in a way that respects the individual.

The lady is supported by My Life Monday to Friday with shifts available from 9am - 9pm, plus two waking nights and sleep in shifts per week.


What you'll need to Succeed
In order to succeed, you will be kind-hearted and interested in making a positive difference to this lady's life. You will have experience working as a carer/Personal Assistant and you will need to be experienced with challenging behaviour.

You will be self-motivated, flexible and have the ability to use your own initiative whilst being caring and sensitive to the needs of others.

Ideally, you will hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

The salary will be up to £12.50 per hour, depending upon experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
